ROSH HASHANA

Rosh Hashanah – The Jewish New Year

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year, a time for reflection, hope, and fresh beginnings. Families celebrate with special prayers, the sound of the shofar (a ram’s horn), and sweet foods like apples dipped in honey to wish for a sweet year ahead. It usually falls in early autumn and begins a ten-day period of reflection that leads to Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.
